SFDC Integration with Oracle ERP

How Important Is It That Our SFDC Consultant Be An Oracle ERP Expert? We're a Global Company, looking to deploy SFDC. We're interviewing Consultants to guide the implementation. We've interviewed Candidates to PM this project and seem to be getting mixed info ... We are running Oracle EB Suite ... and need multiple integration points.

1. How significant is it that our PM Consultant be an Oracle ERP expert?

2. Is general ERP expertise good enough?

3. Is it more important that our Consultant be a SFDC expert, or is it critical that they be an expert at Oracle ERP and SFDC?

4. What questions should we ask? And what are the answers to these questions?

Re: SFDC Integration with Oracle ERP

It is VERY important that your consultant have experience both with Salesforce API or Salesforce integration products, AND Oracle, including the API's. There is no one-size-fits all integration, no cookie cutter out of the box solution. Every Oracle implementation is very different.

Sesame Software has current experience with Oracle integration, and our Relational Junction product suite is designed to make it as easy as possible. Feel free to contact me directly for more information.

Re: SFDC Integration with Oracle ERP

Do you have Oracle experience on site? If so, then balance it out with a strong SFDC individual. My team has the Oracle background. I'm the SFDC Admin. I use CastIron to talk to Oracle for several integrations. I have some experience working with financial, HR, and Procurement systems which helps. But my colleagues cover the rest. So my advice would be on strong SFDC with additionally strong experience with whatever integration solution you adopt (if you have Oracle people on staff already).
