Reports with Opportunities and 2 associated Custom Objects

Associated to my Opportunities are Opportunity Products and a custom object we created entitled Bids. Our sales management is trying to get out Opportunity reports the contain information from both the Opportunity Products and Bids. It is possible to create two separate reports (Opportunities with Opportunity Products & Opportunities with Bids) to pull the information needed, but I can't seem to get all the information pulled into one report (Opportunities with Opportunity Products & Bids). As both the 'objects' are related to Opportunity, I should think this should be possible. I have tried creating 'interim' custom objects and toyed with various look-up functions, but my dawg is not hunting. A little help?

Have you tried linking the fields you need in the Custom Report Types layout?  There is an option to add fields related via lookup.  I have been able to get reports from tables that aren't directly linked but have an object in common this way.
