Newbie: Is it possible to expose/publish SalesForce Contact information on a website?

Hallo everyone

I'm new with working with SalesForce.

I have a website through which I want my customers (whose contact information lives in SalesForce) to be able to update their personal information via my website (after a successful login).

Is it possible to expose/publish contact information from my SalesForce instance to my website where the authenticated customer can see certain information I make available from SalesForce, as well as update certain allowed fields?
