I apologize in advance for this rant, but I feel I was just duped by Salesforce and MH. My team, after reading the New Strategic Selling book, was interested in integration the "blue sheet" into Salesforce. I have come to find out that MH will not sell you the sheets, unless everyone on my team attends a seminar. So, in reality, the sheets are not @$20 pp, but $1500 per person. This is a total bait and switch scam, and Salesforce should be ashamed to be part of such a thing. They should make this clear to everyone on the website. What a total scam.

This is good to know, as we had only just begun looking into the MH integration of blue sheets with SFDC. Are you saying that you couldn't purchase that integrated blue sheet service unless all of your users (who would be using the blue sheets) attended their conference?
Thanks for the heads up,
Jenni

Miller Heiman is in the business of training sales people on their methodologies. The Miller Heiman Sales Access Manager product (the one referenced above) is designed to reinforce the training that Miller Heiman provides, and to track sales rep usage of the methodology. It's not designed to be a stand-alone solution.
Miller Heiman does not offer SAM without training as they want to make sure that reps are properly trained. Otherwise, it's possible that a company could turn on SAM, not train their reps adequately, and then claim that Miller Heiman and SAM didn't work for them.
I believe that there are other methodologies available that are integrated with Salesforce that do not have this training requirement and would allow you to simply turn on an application. Try the folks at Select Selling, TCS or SPI.

BMattick is correct, the tools that are offered by Miller Heiman are designed to reinforce sales processes that Miller Heiman has been introducing to organizations involved in complex sales since the late 70's. There is no scam about it, this has been the business model for Miller Heiman since the company was founded.
Without the Miller Heiman process training, the tools that reinforce the process would not provide much value to an end user. Miller Heiman requires that someone go through the training to get access to the tools available for Salesforce.com, as well as the paper tools and Excel based tools that are offered as well(the $20 tools that were mentioned earlier in this string)
Training is delivered via Public workshops, Private training, and OnDemand web-based training. You can contact me or a Miller Heiman Sales Consultant at 877-678-3380 for more information.
Thank you and great selling,
Brendan Hawkins
