Mass creating tasks for new leads/contacts imported using Group Edition

I want to automatically create a task for leads/contacts which I upload into Salesforce using the Group Edition.

I am sending out a lot of catalogs by mail to new leads I find. After doing the mailings, I upload the leads/contacts into Salesforce from Excel using the .CSV format.

What I would like is to automatically create a new task for each lead/contact I upload in this manner, so I know to give these new leads a call and verify receipt of the catalog.

I searched the Salesforce's help files and also these boards, and found information about doing this using the Apex Loader, but since I have the Group Edition of Salesforce, I believe that the Apex Loader is unavailable (correct me if I am wrong), so I would like to find a way to do this in the Group Edition some way.

Any help you can give me would be EXTREMELY helpful! Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, I could never figure this out on my own, and nobody has replied to the posting. I even tried tech support, but all they wanted to do was try and sell me an outrageously expensive add-on which MIGHT work. I'm probably going to quit Saleforce soon because of the treatment I have received.
