I noticed on the User Fields page (Customize > Users > Fields) a standard field named "Contact" with a lookup to the Contact object. But I don't see this field displayed on my User page layout and there's no field-level security for the field, so it's not just a matter of it being hidden.
Does anyone know how this field is, or could be, used? My users are setup as Contacts in my org, so this seems like a way to link them, but there's not an obvious way to do so.
Can anyone solve the mystery?

I think you can only use that if the User is a Partner User and oy uhave a PRM Portal set up (but what the hell do I know).
