Goldmine dbase migration - Informatica's tool vs Apatar's tool - thoughts, recomendations?

[ Edited ]

I'm new to SF and was previouly using Goldmine 6.7, the dBase version. I've been evaluatiing self-service tools to migrate my contact and history data into to SF. I've come accross 2 solutions that seem viable and I wanted to ask the community if they've had expereince with either one of them and if they could make any recoomendations.

The two tools that i've been evaluating are Informatica's Goldmine - SFDC Migration tool, which seems like it can migrate contact and history data using the XML export capabilities of Goldmine and Apatar's Integration for GoldMine and Salesforce.

I've found Apatar's website to be confusing and am still not sure if it can migrate the dbase version of goldmine because the examples seem to focu on SQL databases, the platform that the newer versions of Goldmine are running on.

I'd really appreciate any insight/expereince that the community may have had with either of these tools.

Thanks,

NC

On further research, I can not use Apatar's Integration for GoldMine and Salesforce because it only works with the SQL version of Goldmine and I have the dBase version.

By deafult, I will use Informatica's tool, which I was probably going to use anyway because the documentation is more user friendly.

I will update this post with my reviews when I've completed the migration.

yes INFA can do it :smileyhappy:, just remember when you dump your XML'S do create XSD's from those so as to create your source defn from XSD to be consistent.

Do you mean to look at the structure for reference when mapping?
