I am working thru the lessons in the 2010 Force.com Workbook. Everything worked perfectly until I got to tutorial #4, step 5. When I logged in as the New user, the Custom Tabs for "Invoice Statement" and "Merchandise" are not showing up.
I logged back in as Admin, and checked everything I can think of. The "Warehouse" app is set as "visible" to all profiles. On the "Standard User Profile" > Field Level Security shows "Visible" on both Custom Objects, and both Tab Settings are "Default On". But when I scroll down to "Custom Object Permissions" on the the boxes are not checked, and it will not allow me to check them. Where does this need to be changed so that these tabs show when a standard user logs in? -

OK - Found help elsewhere. Apparently the workbook is incorrect, or missing a step. I've just discovered that you can't add "custom object" permissions to the Standard Profile! Solution was to create another Profile using the standard profile, and assign that to the user. You'd think they could have added a sticker to the page or something, to let you know this wasn't going to work!
