Adwords Lead Source Details no longer populating

We have had the google adwords tracking code running since last year without a hitch. Then as of midway through Feb 4th, it just stopped working. The leads continue to populate within salesforce, yet the Lead Source Details found within activity history are no longer populated with the URL, keyword, adgroup, etc. I have used the adwords tracking test page to ensure that my web-to-lead forms have passed both the adwords js test and web-to-lead test. I reported a case nearly 2 weeks ago and haven't heard any type of explanation. I just keep getting "escalated" to different CS representatives.

Anybody else experience a disruption in adwords tracking?

It appears that this website information (lead source and activity history) is being quarantined due to the addition of a custom field that was checked as required on your Lead object.
When Salesforce attempts to update the lead with lead source and activity history info, the required field is missing.

2 options will fix the issue:

(a) Make the field not required (probably not  ideal, else you would nt have made the field required in the first place)
(b) Pass a default "hidden" value into that field from your web to lead form such that it is not empty when Salesforce tries to update the Lead

I am having the same problem. Lead source details have just stopped completely.  How do we fix it?
