Lead Distribution Template & Partner Recruitment & Ramp Up are two appexchange services we would love to use. However, it is apparently only available to Enterprise and Unlimited Edition (we have Professional).

Does someone know why that is and if it is possible to still somehow install/use this service with Professional Edition?

They are both developed by Force.com Labs and are free. I've asked sfdc support, but they have suggested I contact developers. As there is no specific contact I can use, I would appreciate your help on this.

Apprivo jointly developed these applications with Salesforce

The applications have s-controls which use the Ajax Toolkit, which in turn relies on the API, which is not available as standard in the professional edition (however you can get it as an addon)

If the data structures are of value to you, you could install the applications into a development instance, repackage the application without the scontrols that refer to the toolkit and install that package into your production instance.
