Is there anything available for non-profit fund raising events management?

We have a need to create some structure and cross object relationships to the fund raising we do by the events themselves. So that we can log the event and then relate "organizations" "Contacts" "Donations" and other object records to the event itself. I am rather surprised that the non profit turn key version of SFDC does not have a fund raising "events" object.

Check out Salesforce Labs' Event Management App available in the AppExchange:

You should be able to do it "out of the box" using Campaigns, and Events.

You can create an Event from inside a Campaign Record, and relate both the Campaign, and Event to Leads and Contacts.  As Donations(Opportunities) come in they can also can be linked to both the Campaign, and Contact  (which is in turn related to the Account.

The fine line between an "Event" and a "Campaign" is very thin.  Sometimes it is worth creating an entirely new Events tab.  Sometimes it is worth using Campaigns.  I would not suggest using the Activity called Event.

Send me an email at tanner@shamrockcrm.com and we can discuss.
