Sharing Custome objects among Past Owners

Hi Friends

we are trying to work around this issue. We have a custom object "Order" whose ownership moves from original creator to Distributor and then to another party. But once the Distributor or third party owns the order, Original creator loses the visibility into it.How can be grant view access to past owners on these orders.
We can not have org wide permission of Public as in that case everyone can see everyone else's orders. So Orders are private.

Please help.
