Lead Conversion - During Lead Conversion specify a particular account and opportunity record type

Hi Folks,

Looking to enhance the Lead conversion process to incorporate choosing a particular account and opportunity record type from a designated value from the lead record.  This value could be a lead record type Id or a value from a picklist or text field.   

Does anyone know what would be the best method and provide some direction how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance for your time.
