How to monitor incomplete tasks

The marketing VP has asked for a report that will show any incomplete tasks that have been assigned to the marketing reps and inside clerical staff. After reviewing the many topics in the set up area under users I am unable to find anything that will do this. The tasks references that I have found only pertain to my tasks, not the group. Can anyone help me locate a way to monitor and make sure that the department does not have outstanding tasks that are not being completed?

Thanks, Janice

Re: How to monitor incomplete tasks

Depending on which edition of SF your org uses, and what permissions you have.  You should be able to build a report that shows all Open (uncompleted) Tasks with a Due Date < TODAY, with a breakdown by "Assigned To".

Do you know which SF Edition you are using, and which User Profile you have?

Re: How to monitor incomplete tasks

Thanks, this worked like a charm. I had to make it more complicated than it really was, went through the set up to users and tried to pull info for the group, didn't work. I guess I need to explore all of the items that are available within the report tab, probably lots of things we would have a use for.

Thanks again,

No problem

Depending on which SF Edition you have, and your user permissions, you might wanna dive in, and create your own Custom Report Types (not to be confused with Creating Custom Reports).  Custom Report Types give you a LOT more flexability.
