Re: SalesForce Developer Certification

Hi vjsorg,

I dont know much about the admin exam but as i am studying, i think dev exam is more regarding the logic behind the salesforce objects.

Rest, the person who has cleared it can explain us in a better way.

thanks,

Yep, I passed it, I found it easier than the Admin one. The study guide is more useful than the admin one at covering the scope of the questions.

I took both Admin & Dev exams on the same day as there's a lot of overlap. The admin one has more focus on the CRM functionality and theory whereas the Dev is more practical in how you can implement configuration changes. There's no SControl, Apex or VisualForce required for the Dev, but you do need to know they exist and why.

Re: SalesForce Developer Certification

Richard,

Congrats on passing the developer & admin exam. When you say Study Guide, Are you referring to this on sales force website?

(or)

Are you referring to the class material  from DEV401 as study guide?

What materials did you go through for the developer exam?

Thanks

Re: SalesForce Developer Certification

Hey Congrates bg_richard ,

I am also referring to the Developer User Guide "Salesforce_creating_on_demand_apps.pdf" Provided By Salesforce .

I am a working professional. Please let me know how much practice does it need and the knowledge of all the functionalities are important.

I am thinking of giving Dev exam by next month probably.

thanks,

Re: SalesForce Developer Certification

Hi There,

I am planning to take the developer certification. I was wondering if you could answer couple of my questions please?

 - Is self study enough to pass the exam?

 - For self-study I found the "Force.com_Fundamental.pdf" on Salesforce website. Should this and the study guide suffice for passing the developer exam?

I appreciate your response. Thank you.

Re: SalesForce Developer Certification

Hello SO,

For developer exam, salesforce has provided "Salesforce_creating_on_demand_apps.pdf" study guide.

There is no institute for salesforce, so you need to do self study only.Salesforce provides training, but its in a particular city, you can check it on website.

For self study, you have to, have to complete this whole pdf book thoroughly.

The exam is not so tricky but the questions are somewhat destructive.

So prepare it well.

All the best !!!!

The syllabus to study is provided in "SG_CertifiedDeveloper.pdf".

Re: SalesForce Developer Certification

Hi  ,

Thanks for the response. I am having trouble finding the book "Salesforce_creating_on_demand_apps.pdf" you mentioned. I found the books following the link below:

http://wiki.developerforce.com/index.php/Forcedotcom_Library_Overview

Books found: 1. Force.com Fundamentals Book: An Introduction to Custom Application Development in the Cloud

2. Force.com Developer Guide: An Introduction to the Force.com Platform

3. Force.com Cookbook: Code Samples and Best Practices

I also found the study guide(easy to find :smileyhappy:)

Could you please provide the link as where to find the  "Salesforce_creating_on_demand_apps.pdf"? Thanks again!
