I wish to restrict access to opportunites. I have set the default access to Opportunites to private under Sharing Settings however other users can still view the opportuniy but…

I wish to restrict access to opportunites. I have set the default access to Opportunites to private under Sharing Settings however other users can still view the opportunity but they cannot edit it. The other users cannot view the account and contact associated with the opportunity but can see the opportunity itself.

Go to the profiles of users who can view the opportunities and remove the "View All" rights from opportunity.

After doingProfile change also still opportunities are visible means check for any sharing rules on Opportunities.
