Hi All,

           Is it possible to  deploy from a developer instance to production? If not what would be the alternative?

Yeah, you can do this.
check the doc,
http://www.salesforce.com/us/developer/docs/apexcode/Content/apex_deploying.htm
Eclipse and Migration Tool will work in this case.
