solution views in customer portal

I am trying to customize some of the views that display for solutions, in our customer portal. For example, the "Most Commonly Used" and "recently viewed solutions" are standard sf views. I need to modify these views so all of the headers don't show (for example, Author Alias).  Since these are standard sf views, it won't let me edit them to limit who can view them or modify the view. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place? Can someone tell me how I can either modify the existing views or hide these views from our customer portal users and I'll just create new views?

unfortunately no. I don't think it can be done (at least by a "non-developer").
