Hello,
I am trying to get a summary on a Contact of all the opportunities where they had a specific role. For example, have one roll up that shows they are the "influencer" on X amount of opportunities, and another roll up that shows they are the "decision maker" on Y amount of opportunities. I've tried to do this with roll up fields and workflows without success. What is the best way to approach this? Would I need to use Apex code for this?
Thanks!

Would a report provide you the information you need. I clicked on the Opportunity Reports folder and selected Contact Role Report. I'm assuming this is a default directory and assortment of reports for all Salesforce users. You can then create a report summarized by Contact Role and add in any filters necessary to provide you with what you need.
Is this a viable summary option for you?

You can't do it with a Roll-Up Summary field, Contacts and Opportunity Contact Roles do not have the neccesaary Master-Detail relationship.
You might be able to do something with Apex Code, but the only thing that I know about Apex Code is that I don't know a thing about Apex Code.
