Salesforce.com has pioneered the way in the software as a service (SaaS) industry. I have been effectively using their products and increasing productivity in my organization. One of the issues that I needed a solution to was the cost of document storage. We had been using the notes & attachments to store documents, emails, and other content relating to accounts, contacts, et cetera. This provided a simple solution, but as we continued to store content there it was clear that Salesforce.com didn't want to be our document repository. The cost of storage is high, forcing us to look to outside resources for email and document management. After trying several solutions for document management found on the appExchange we found an affordable product called NetDocuments that is also the "SaaS" model. They boast that Salesforce.com themselves currently use NetDocuments, recently pushing for the release to the appExchange, letting the general Salesforce.com public to have access to the service.
NetDocuments integrates with an existing Salesforce.com account, or stands alone as a fully functional Document Management System (DMS). Being known in the legal market, and recently partnering with LexisNexis, we could be assured our documents were safe and secure, and in compliance with ALL the restrictions and regulations that must be followed when storing content sensitive data.
NetDocuments is a progressive solution for content management regardless of the size of your business, or what your industry is. Check them out on the appExchange, and trial it with no obligation. The beauty of a "SaaS" product is that the day I'm not satisfied I can cancel!!

Below is the link for a no obligation free trial of NetDocuments. It is a 15-day trial period, but that can be extended for SalesForce.com users wanting to set up the integrations. (Embedded views, S-controls, and custom links).
If you work with documents (regardless of format) it is worth lookig in to.
