Hi folks
We want to send out Christmas cards to a subset of our leads and contacts. My initial thought was to tag the records with XMAS and then run a report that can subsequently be used as a list to handwrite the cards and as input for a mail merge.
It seems that this can't be done because reporting does have the option of selecting tags.
I then tried to add a check box to Lead and Contact records with some success - but I have found that a significant number of contact records are not associated with an account. (No .... I don't know why.) This excludes them from reporting.
Can anyone help me with a solution to this problem?
Thanks
Craig

Your checkbox solution should work however are you selecting the Standard Salesforce Reports because all of those are Account and Contact reports so that is saying both Account and Contact. Therefore if you create a Custom Report Type with JUST Contacts you should be able to run your report with your checkbox regardless of whether they have an Account or not. You can do this by going to the following;
1. Set-Up
2. Create
3. Report Types
4. Main Object: Contacts
5. Then Just Add Contacts no other relationship
This report should give you the Account Name, Contact Info and Mailing Address so you should have everything you need for your mailing list.
I hope this helps.
