Merge a custom object with Activities for a unfied report

Hello guys,

I am trying to create a report where I am trying to get info from two different areas. I need to get data from my activities and a custom object called CCR. Both are related to my contacts.

I can't seem to find a way to get the data from the two into one report. I see how i can make two different reports. But would be possible to do this within one report?

As of today, I believe the answer is No. You can use Custom Report Types in order to get more indepth reporting however the only way you could get your report is if data structure looked like the following;

1. Contacts

2. related to CCR

3. activities related to CCR

You could do a custom report type to get All Contacts with CCR and Activities if they were related as outlined above. However, I believe both your objects are related directly to contacts and their is no look-up linking a CCR to an Activity.

One workaround is using Connect for Office and you can create an Excel Template that runs both reports on one spreadsheet. It is pretty intuitive to set-up and can get your data on one report.

I believe this is the idea on Idea Exchange that would solve your problem should they release it.

Hey thanks for the info, very helpful indeed!! I went to the link and read about many to many, but not sure where i can find more info on this. It says that this functionality has already been released...where would i find info on this?

Oops I think I posted the wrong link because what you need to do I believe is not available sorry I might of grabbed the wrong one! Let me see if I can find the idea for you.

As you can see this is not released, however if you use Connect for Office and generate in Excel you could do it on one workbook.

One more thing Conga Merge maybe able to help out on this one as well but you still have to send to a merged doc. I believe. However, I would recommend getting in touch with them they are GREAT and really inexpensive. They have helped me with a TON of my reporting needs.
