Leads

hi

 

i do a lot of cold calling - would these count as leads in salesforce or is there a better way to organise them

 

also, can i change the sales process stages?

In that scenario initially entering them as Leads and then converting them to Accounts and Contacts AFTER they have been qualified is probably the way to to (especially in terms of maintaining data quality).

 

If you have the necesarry Profile Permissions you can customize the Opportunity Stage and Sales Process settings on your SFDC.Org.  There should be more detailed information on the steps for doing this available in the online Help

Hello there,


Stevemo is definitely right - the only thing I would add is that if you are not committed to driving the lead to a disposition, you shouldn't even bother to call them at all.

 

Even if you have 90/100 leads tell you, "Not now buddy!" By putting those leads in Salesforce.com you are building a valuable marketing database inside of Salesforce.com.  Email them every 3-6 weeks to keep in front of them so that when they are ready to buy, they think of you.
