How to strip HTML tags when exporting HTML Solutions?

Hi Community,
Has anyone figured out an effective way to produce a report of Solutions that excludes the HTML tags?

When you export HTML Solutions, the Solutions Details field is still formatted as HTML and Excel won't interpret the tags. I've tried copying from Printable View but then the Solutions Details field is limited to 255 characters so that you don't get the entire content. I've attempted various reformatting schemes in Excel, Word, browsers and text editors but haven't hit on an effective process. Anyone out there find a way to do retain all the other columns while getting just the text in the Details?

Thanks,
Luke C

Re: How to strip HTML tags when exporting HTML Solutions?

Hi,

I use an Excel add-on called ASAP Utiltities (http://www.asap-utilities.com/) that includes functionality to strip html code from web pages opened in Excel.  I've never exported Solutions to Excel so I don't know if it will give you exactly what you need but there's enough on ASAP utilities to make it worth the download.

On the ASAP menu bar, you'll find the feature you need at:  13. Web...Clean Web Imported Data.

Thanks! I'll give that a try after Dreamforce and post my success!

Has anyone found a solution for this?  I tried using the asap-utilities product to remove the html tags, but the program returns an error when stripping the html tags.

Hi Joe,

I never did try the asap-utilities and fortunately was able to table the project that required cleansing the Solutions for external use.
