Data in Oracle E Business Suite and Salesforce Data

Has anyone had the need to push data between Salesforce and a financial product like Oracle?

If so, could you provide advice on good companies to look at, possible pitfalls and best practices?

I'm afraid I can't answer those last two questions.  I just joined this company.  The implementation occurred months earlier.
