Capturing Event Campaign RSVPs Automatically [ Edited ]

I would like to automate the way we capture RSVPs to event campaigns.  When a lead/contact RSVPs to an event e-vite, is there a way to automatically capture their response in sf.com?  ...and automate member status update? 

...Perhaps somehow utilizing the same principal in web-to-lead feature, but in this case, instead of creating a new lead, it updates a campaign member status??

2nd, how can we execute such an automated RSVP collection when we offer folks a choice of venues on one event invitation?

I think you would need a second party to meet your requirements. At my previous company we used Eloqua, however that is like rolling out a second Salesforce.com. However, it does track all your responses and provides results. The team over there is really great to work with as well.
