I am using a personal (free) account in an effort to get my company to switch. I have been using the account for a while. I can no longer search for accounts or contacts in the search box. When I try to search on a first name, full name, partial account name or full, it returns no record found. What has changed?

Double check that you didn't check the "Limit search to items I own" box. The setting is sticky from session to session.

I spoke to support late last week and we found an error in Personal Edition with the rollover to SF8.
It is working now....
