Hi all,
In term of best practice which one is advisable?
I am starting a campaign for a new product in Salesforce, I am using Eloqua to generate and score leads.
my issue is that some of the leads are already existing contacts for another product in Salesforce.
What should I do?
Add the existing sales contact as a lead to the new campaign, so that each person will enter the sales pipepline as a lead? or
Add the existing contact to the new campaign as a contact and just send notification to the account manager?
If i do the later, is there a way to create an opportunity against and existing contact?
Thank you for your support.
Nadine

Hi Nadine,
I'm not familiar with Eloqua, but we are using campaigns extensively, mostly marketing to our existing client base. We use both contacts and leads within our campaigns and have campaign influence enabled on our opportunity object.
Our typical process works like this:
Contact is associated with a campaign
If the Contact expresses interest:
1) Mark Member Status as "Responded"
2) Create new lead and associate it with the existing customer acct (custom field on lead object)
Convert Lead to Opportunity and follow normal sales cycle
I am then able to track the number of contacts, responses, leads, converted leads, opportunities and won opportunities for each campaign we run.
Hope this helps.
