Campaign Influence -seeing campaigns at the ACCOUNT level, not Contact level -HELP!

When I was at a SF.com User group meeting earlier this year, held at the ZoomInfo site, I spoke with someone regarding “Marketing Influence” section within the opportunity records. What I am looking for is to see all campaigns that have touched an Account (not a Contact) that has a current Opportunity. With te "Campaign Influence" tool, we can see campaigns ONLY if an opportunity was created from a Contact record.

If a sales rep creates an opp from an account record, which is what they usually do, any campaign code does not carry over. What I saw at the User group meeting was, within the Opportunity tab under Campaign Influence, ther was a link that read "Marketing Influence". When one clicks on that link, one could see ALL campaigns that touched various people with the account. Does anyone know what I am talking about? HOw can get this to work?

Found Campaigns Related to Opportunity Report on the AppExchange - was this what you saw?

Hi Erica,

Thank you for your reply.

We downloaded that report from the App Exchange, and while it gives us all campaigns related to a contact, it doesn't give us all campaigns related to an Account within a certain time period. We want to see all campaigns that touched a certain account within, say the last quarter...which involves multiple contacts within that account.

There is a standard report called Campaigns with Campaign Members that you could run grouped by the Company/Account name that would get you the information you are looking for.  You can find this in the Campaign Reports folder.

Just be careful when grouping by Company/Account Name that you don't have accounts with the same name.  If you do, you will need to create a custom report type so that you can include the account ID to ensure that you are getting an accurately grouped report.  If you go this route, you could also create a custom report link on the account page so that you could run the report from a specific account to get their campaign history -- if that would be of use to you.  If you need more details on creating a custom report type or a custom report link, there is info in online help -- or just write back, here.
